We are operating in a period of huge environmental, financial, military and geopolitical risk which affects every organisation working in the UK. The scale of the risk we all face can feel overwhelming, and in response organisations and individuals may be tempted to put risk management to one side. But we believe this would be a mistake: by engaging positively with risk - identifying and mitigating risks, and taking well-planned steps to maximise opportunities - organisations can thrive in challenging times. Sometimes the greatest risk for organisations may be to do nothing at all.
At Risk Britain, we are here to help you address your risks in a sensible and positive way. We help you to articulate your risks, which is the first step to addressing them. We work not just with Boards and senior managers, but across organisations, recognising that each member of staff and each team will have a unique view on an organisation's risks - and the opportunities available to it. We provide the tools and templates that teams and organisations need, and support a positive, transparent culture around risk which is essential to ensure that risks are not missed. We work both with staff to identify operational risks and with Boards to identify strategic risks.
But our work does not stop when risks have been identified; indeed, it has only just begun. Having identified risks, we work with teams to mitigate and manage those risks, to ensure escalation processes are in place and that there is transparency around risk and response across the whole organisation. Thanks to our experience working with a range of different organisations, we can advise on the best responses to risks and support organisations to take well-planned risks, balancing the potential negative impacts with the opportunities which often sit alongside risks.
In a challenging operating environment, we take a positive approach to risk: we believe that if risks are methodically identified and addressed, and opportunities are fairly weighted against risks, then organisations can be robust and resilient in difficult times.
Our job is to help you build that resilience.
